Free skin cancer screenings coming up - WKZO Kalamazoo

PORTAGE (WKZO) -- May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month, and the American Cancer Society's helping organize some free screenings for area residents. The organization's Anne Moenke says they'll be in Portage and Hartford.

The Portage one is at Kalamazoo Dermatology on May 22nd, from nine AM to noon, and the Hartford event is at the Van Buren County Health Department on May 15th, also from nine AM to noon. To make an appointment, call 349-8710.

Moenke says that skin cancer can be fatal, but like most other illnesses, it can be treated effectively if caught early. To find out more, go to www.cancer.org .
